Alphabet die

Good morning, today’s card doesn’t really have a name but it’s like a eclipse but in reverse. I stamped the Panda stamp from Woodware and then placed the letters I was using to form my name across the image and run them through my machine. My machine has a magnetic board if yours doesn’t you can gently tape them down and do it one at a time. I then attached a piece of coloured card behind the die cut image. In my card the “o,p,a” had middle pieces that had to be stuck down, so don’t throw all your bits in the bin before you check if your letters are missing parts. The whole panel was then attached to card blank. The card is completely flat and I added a sentiment that is included in the set . I love this alphabet die set there is so many things you can do with them.

Back tomorrow with another idea

Eclipse card

Hi there, first I would like to thank the few ladies who came along to see John Lockwood on Saturday . He did some amazing demos using the new products from Aladine and his new stamps and media plates. I would also like to say thank you for the comments we received afterwards about how good he was. Unfortunately, these Crafts experts need to be booked months in advance as they have to work around their own workshop/TV commitments. We are working on future demonstrations and workshops. Please keep an eye out for these dates , as you pick up so much advice and helpful tips to aid your crafting. Hopefully you will support us by coming along to either watch the demo or take part in their workshop. I have got some photos to share of cards John made and I will post those later this week.

Onto todays card and it’s an eclipse card using the fab new Marianne alphabet die set and a Phil Martin stamp set. I used Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud Ink to colour the image once it has been stamped. Unfortunate they are not the easiest thing to photograph.

The stamp is a new one from Jane Gill and was inked with Versafine Black ink and then covered with clear embossing powder and heated . The sentiment comes in the set. A very quick/flat and easy card to make when you are in a hurry!!

Mays Product of the month

For the month of May product of the month is everything from the brand Cosmic Shimmer . So that includes the glue, Shimmer Shakers, Pixie Powders, Gilding Flakes, Colour Cloud and Chalk Cloud inks, Glitters, Gilding Polish, Glitterkisses, Texture Paste, Liquid PVA and Embossing Powders . There is probably still some I have missed . For obvious reasons we don’t have every colour in all the ranges in stock but there is a colour chart and anything you want can be ordered and you still get 15% off .

I had a class on Tuesday using some of those products and here is the first card I made.

I used Cloud ink to colour the flowers that I stamped with Archival ink . I also used a smoothie to blend the ink through the stencil. I spread a layer of clear Glitterkisses on top with a palette knife while the stencil was still in place. Also a dabbed some onto my flower petals. You can use texture paste as well for this technique. I find Glitterkisses is a little thinner in consistency and therefore dries quicker in class. It only took about 20/30 minutes to dry, if your craft area is in a sunny/warmer position it might take less or longer if it’s cold.

Distress Oxide background

Good morning, looks like it’s going to be a miserable day today. Today’s card is another from my class last week using John Lockwood new release Gerbera collection.

For the background I die cut the largest lattice die from the Sandwich box set from Yupo paper to make a stencil. The cardstock was inked with Distress Oxide and then I layered ink on top through the stencil in random areas. It’s a little bit heard to see in photo ( I have another card coming soon where it’s a bit clearer to see).

The Gerbera has just been cut in White cardstock and the back die cut has been cut from the Sandwich Box die using a circle die. Before I stuck everything down I stamped my sentiments. Finished off with some enamel accents and fine tip pen around the edge.
