Savannah Kit from Craftwork Cards

Change from Christmas cards over the next few days. Last week I held a Craftwork Cards class using their Savannah kit. I will post the cards over the next few days.

First up are two versions of a Diorama card, one with a circle aperture using one of the circle die cuts from the kit behind. I just used a basic circle die to make the aperture on the front .

The second version is the same size, just using a square die and one of the square die cuts from the kit. All the papers, flowers and die cuts are included in the kit.

Back tomorrow with some more ideas

Linear Leaf

Good evening, hope you are keeping warm its been freezing today !!

My card today has an Autumnal feeling again and the photo does not really do it justice. The background has been created using Bronze Blush, Ancient Copper and Burnt Orange Pixie Powders on Watercolour cardstock. The Linear Leaf die is from the latest Creative Expressions release and has been cut from some Chestnut foundation card and attached to the background . The sentiment die is called Ransom Note and has been cut from Copper mirror card.

Don’t forget the sale is still on at the shop in store and online

A change from Christmas for today’s card. Last week I used one of the new Steampunk dies from Sue Wilson in my class. I decided to use Distress Oxides to make a background and from this I die cut out some of the dies fro the set. There are several Steampunk dies in her latest release, this one is called Indusrial Chic Mixed Essentials. The colour Oxides I used are Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Cracked Pistachio, Walnut Stain, Fossiled Amber and Peeled Paint. You don’t need to use that many just have a play, I promise you won’t get the same result each time.  I pressed some of the ink onto my non stick mat and then spritzed with water, I then swooshed the card through the ink and tried each layer. It really brings out the “oxidisation ” look that the inks were designed to do.

The stamps the stamps are from a co-ordinating set called Steampunk Sentiments and I have used some of the Oxides to stamp with.  They have also been used around the edges and I have spritzed with water and then dabbed off excess with kitchen towel.

Finally, I added some Creative Expressions Silver Gilding polish or use you use their Wax to highlight areas and added a few Silver Nailhead’s.

Hope you like it, any questions you can always leave in comments and I will get back to you.

New Release Sue Wilson Stitched Hills and Clouds

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Today’s card uses a new release die from Sue Wilson and I wanted to use it for a Christmas card before I teamed it up with other dies from this release.

The die is the stitched hills and I have cut them out of White cardstock and arranged them to look like drifts. They stitch on both sides of the cut so you have different options for laying them down. The lamppost is from Cardio and is called Vintage Lanterns . It’s been stamped in BlackVersafine and then I used Versacolour Orange, Marigold and Green for the lights and the Ivy. The sentiment comes in the stamp set and the Deer dies are from Nellie Snellen.

I finished off with some Diamond Stickles and the card is a 7″x 5″

Don’t forget the sale is still on in the shop and online. Today until end of the month it’s 33% off all stock .

A Winter Scene

This card uses a little cottage stamp from Nellie Snellen called Idyllic Winter Scene. It could be used any time of the year but to make it into a snowy scene I used a combination of Kraft card and White ink.  I made a stencil by cutting a circle in some scrap card with a circle die. I then held it down with some tape and using a piece of sponge or a Smoothie from Creative Expressions, I blended some Versacolour White pigment ink through the stencil. Once I was happy with that I stamped the cottage with Archival Coffee ink so it stood out on top of the White.  I then removed the stencil and using the Let it snow stamp from the previously used Marianne Christmas Song stamp set I inked it up with the Archival stamp again and stamped across the bottom of the circle.

To bring out some more snowy effect I used a White pencil to colour in the roof and some other areas and added some falling snow with  Sakura Soufflé White pen. I also added some twinkle by using a glue pen and some Glamour Dust glitter. You could use Stickle glitter glue .

This card is very flat and ideal for posting. You could of course add other embellish to like punched out snowflakes to create a more 3D card. You could also use bauble die if you have one bug enough and create a stencil using that.

Have a fab weekend , don’t forget the shop sale today everything at 40% off.  All our class cards are on show for you to look closer.

Wreath card

It was great to see everyone in the shop today filling their baskets with all those amazing bargains at 50% off. Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it today, tomorrow there is still 40% off everything. From Monday its 33% off everything until the end of November. Then for the whole of December its 50% off selected items and 25% off everything else. If you can’t get to the shop, the discounts still apply online as well.

My card today uses the Marianne Twigs and Twine stamp and die set. It’s from my Winter Frost class. This is a fabulous set of stamps and co-ordinating dies which a lot of could be used all year not just Christmas. I have used a selection of different cardstocks, White mirror card and Silver glitter card to cut two leaf dies from. The Green spruce type stamps have been embossed with Glamous Green Wow embossing powder and the used the die to cut them out. The Red berries have been stamped in Versacolour Cardinal ink and then covered and heated with Wow clear embossing powder and again cut using the matching die.

The sentiment is from Creative Expressions Santa Sentiments and I drew around the inside of a roll of double sided type with a pencil to make a circle to guide me where to place the foliage. The bow is from Creative Expressions and is called Itty Bitty, it’s a lovely cute little bow and so handy for all year projects.

Have a fabulous weekend, hopefully we will see lots of you in the shop tomorrow.

Stag card

Good evening, tonight’s card is from a class I did a little while ago called Winter Frost.  On this card we used a Stag die from Marianne . We created a Pixie Powder background using Silver Dream and Aqua Lagoon on watercolour card. The Oval has been cut out using the Press Cut Oval stitched die set . The sentiment is from Marianne Christmas Song and the “Christmas” has been stamped on mirror card with Black Stazon ink. The We Wish…. has been stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Wow White Embossing Powder. The seal and leaf stamp and die are in a Marianne Twigs and Twine stamp/die set (more on that tomorrow) and has been embossed with Wow Black Twinkle powder.  The background has been created using a Creative Expressions embossing folder called Shimmering Stars.

Hopefully you would have seen the facebook and email announcement about our sale starting tomorrow. Fabulous bargains to be had right through to Christmas .

Multi step Poinsettia

This is the last card we made on my recent Press to Impress class. The pointsettia stamp is from Jusrite and comes with different size flowers and leaves as well as some sentiments. I only used one flower for this card and it was stamped with Red Magic, Pink Grapefruit, Spainish Olive and Thatched Straw VersaMagic ink pads. The veins have been stamped with Archival Coffee. The frame is from Creative Expressions and is called Holly Lattice Frame . I have cut it out of Gold Hunkdory mirror card and the inner frame is done with Black card.  The sentiment comes in the Pointsettia set.

Back tomorrow with some more ideas. Keep an eye out for emails and Facebook for info about some upcoming sales online and in the shop starting on Black Friday.

Layered Holly

Todays cards uses the Press to Impress tool which is still Product of the Month and has a fabulous discount  of 15% until the end of the November and the new Marianne Holly layering stamp.  This is ideal for some quick and easy cards and using the stamping tool means you can stamp each layer on numerous pre cut cardstock and then repeat with each stamp in the set. I used Versacolour inks in Lime, Green Tea, Fresh Green and Evergreen.  Four different shades of Green to build the image up. Then finally some Cardinal for the berries. I said the Christmas Song  stamp set would be back, in this card I have just stamped directly onto the card and added an additional We wish you …..which is also included in the stamp set.

To finish it’s simply matted onto some Black cardstock and I added some Glossy Accents to the berries and left it overnight to dry.

Tomorrow I have another layering stamp from Justrite

Christmas Wishes

The card I’m sharing today is from my recent Product of the Month class which in November is the Press to Impress stamping tool. I have used Distress oxides in Wilted Violet, Broken China and Cracked Pistachio to create the background. Then I have used Phil Martin Snowflake Frame to stamp over it. This stamp is rubber not polymer so I took the foam mat out of the tool and then stamped in Black ink the image over the oxide background. Next I stamped the Wishes stamp using the stamping tool again to get it exactly where I wanted it. I die cut some Sweet Dixie Snowflakes from glitter card and added them to my card with some foam pads. The Christmas word is from a new stamp and die set from Marianne( you will be seeing a lot of this over next few posts , I love it !!!) called Christmas Song . It was stamped in Black ink and die cut out and attached with foam pads .

Back tomorrow with some more samples, have a great Sunday
