Another die set from the recent release today using the Bunny Egg die. I did two cards using this die set, one using the rabbit and another chocolate version !
For this card I die cut the large carrot and used it as a mask and sponged some Creative Expressions Cloud ink Frosted Jade through the template to create the background. I die cut the rabbit die and coloured the flowers etc with some Zig Clean pens. I cut this die again and cut out the rabbit to make the card more 3d with foam pads, if you emboss it as well it makes it easier to sponge through with some ink so you highlight the embossed areas to add definition. I attached it to some double sided adhesive that had been cut with the egg die to create the glitter effect behind the rabbit. I die cut the outside edge die and the bow, which I love ! To keep the glitter effect going I added some to the outside edge of my patterned cardstock with a Zig chisel pen and the glitter is Glamour Dust.
This version is for the chocolate lovers lol, I found that the card tipped over once it had the eggs in it so I made a tent card which supports it better. I cut two square of card 5 3/4″ as my base and I scored the back one down about 1/2″ and then attached the glue above the score line and attached to front card. I actually did this last as I wanted to die cut a hole in the back of the front panel so you can get the eggs out without destroying the whole card. I matted with some aqua colour cardstock then I embossed the plum cardstock with a Creative Expressions folder called Dotted Daisy. I die cut the egg shape in the plum and the custard card and on the reverse of the aqua I used a perforated tool to make a cross that can be torn open. The fillable cups fit perfectly , I like to attach with double sided and then I die cut the frame and slipped it over the cup and attached with Cosmic Shimmer glue. The bow is cut from pink cardstock to finish and yes I did match the cardstock to the eggs lol.
For anyone who doesn’t do Easter cards , here is an alternative birthday card. This time I die cut the rabbit in grey and I used the same sentiment die as yesterdays card. I cut away the Happy Easter part from the frame and turned it upside down.
Hope you like them and they are 15% off this month as they feature in the Product of the month promotion.
Back tomorrow with Kerry’s Christmas cards from this months Christmas Club.
Good afternoon, hope you have a lovely Sunday and managing to fit in some crafting time in the warm.
The product of the month for February is 15% off all Creative Expressions, that includes the new release dies from Sue Wilson from January. If you are doing a class this month you will get the additional class 10% discount as well.
Todays card is one from my class this week that is proving to be very popular and ideal for men’s cards or someone that’s off on their travels. Its called City Skyline and you get 5 dies in total. A large and small circle and 3 skylines in different sizes.
For my card I used the largest circle die and cut it out with watercolour card, I then used some Distress Inks to create a night sky. I used Spiced Marigold, Fired Brick, Wilted Violet and Black Soot. I die cut the skylines inside the circle die, they are shaped to fit, in Black cardstock. Then I die cut the skylines again in Silver mirror card and attached to the backs of the Back die cuts, slightly off setting them as they dried. I like the difference you get by adding the mirror card but it still looks fab in just Black. I finished it off by adding a white gel pen to create some stars.
The sentiment at the bottom is the same technique and is also a new die from Creative Expressions. Its part of a range of different smaller sentiment that they are doing now.
Be back tomorrow with some ideas for Easter cards using some of the new dies.
Last card from my new die class that I held on Tuesday, it is being repeated on the Saturday 27th January.
I created the cloud effect by using the Stitched Hills and Clouds did set. I took one of the cloud dies and run it through on some scrap card to create a mask and then using Cosmic Shimmer Cloud Ink Clear Day and a smoothie blended the ink over the mask.
The hot air balloon has been cut out of some scraps of Foundation card and the grass has been created using the Hill dies from the Stitched set. The sentiment die is also in the set. I cut down the front of a 5″ square card blank to make a more 3d style card.
Hope you like it, back tomorrow night with a card from Kerry from her Woodware class.
Back again with another new range of dies from Jeanines Art. These are very detailed dies and come with an additional die to make a mat to fit in the small area that’s blank. I used the Butterflies and Flowers frame and I used some of the lovely decoupage papers from the same company to make the Butterfly element. This decoupage is easy as its already cut, you just have to carefully take each layer out and add some foam pads to raise each layer. You get three different designs on each sheet for £1.00.
Below are more designs and there are different designs in the dies as well. Very quick to make when you need a card in a hurry.
The sentiment stamp and the die its on are also new. Recently released by John Lockwood from his John Next Door range they are called Everyday Sentiments and I used the coordinating Mini Tags die set . Perfect for all occasions, great value and stamp and die cut beautifully.
There is also a Anniversary set including numbers and the Anniversaries like Silver, Pearl etc and a Relations set .
Back tomorrow with a card using some Sue Wilson dies .
So Christmas is over and we are back up and running with classes and some new products are coming into the shop.
In todays class I used some new embossing folders that include a die cut centre which cuts at the same time as it embosses. So one run through the machine does both at the same time.
This photo gives you a better view of the patterns available, the middle areas are the parts that die cut out.
This folder is called Passiflora and has an oval die cut centre. It can be embossed directly through the front of the card to make an aperture front or in this case cut out of coloured cardstock.
The Butterflies are also new from Jeanines Art and come in 2 parts, a sold background and a detailed front and there are 3 butterflies in the pack. I used some double sided adhesive sheet to add some Glamour Dust. The sentiment is from Woodware and is called Just to say.
Back tomorrow with some other new dies
Good evening, I had this Sue Wilson White Snowflake die cut left over and didn’t want throw it away so I made it into another card. I cut a piece of White cardstock slightly smaller than die and coloured it with Creative Expressions Clear Day Cloud ink in the areas where the snowflake centres are on the die. I then covered this piece of cardstock with double sided sticky adhesive and peeled off the top layer and attached the die cut panel on top. I then shook Glamour Dust all over it and tapped off the excess.
I matted the die cut with some matching cardstock and stamped my sentiment onto another scrap using a stamp from my much used and loved Woodware set. Finished off with some glittery dots made from liquid glitter glue around the edge and two larger ones in the centres.
Good luck if you have to go Christmas shopping tomorrow, thankfully I am done . The shop is now shut until Tuesday 2nd January , the current sale will continue online until the 31st December but no parcels will be shipped until the 2nd January. Thank you for your continued custom and support, its means a lot to us. We are looking forward to lots of new and exciting things next year that will include demo days from familiar faces from leading craft companies and craft TV . So that just leaves me to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year from all of us at Crafts Plus and we look forward to seeing you again in 2018!!
Apologies for the lack of posts of the last few days but I have been playing catch-up and trying to get organised for the big day next week. Hopefully you are all better prepared than me !!
I have been having a “tidy up” in my craft room now all the cards have been made and sent and I have a few more cards that I have not posted on here that have either been made using up bits and pieces left over from class cards or in the case of today’s cards playing with different mediums through a mask.
I used a starry tree mask in my last class from Creative Expressions but saw the snowflake tree mask from the same range and thought it would make some more quick and easy cards. So hopefully you might get a few ideas for cards for Christmas next year.
First one uses Wow Platinum embossing powder and I have used a dauber to sponge Versamark ink through the stencil then sprinkled and heated the embossing powder. The sentiment from Woodward has been stamped on some heat resistant acetate with Black Stazon ink. The frame is the Presscut stitched rectangle dies.
Second one same embossing powder and a little snowflake stamp to create the background sentiment is from Craftwork cards.
Third one uses Distress Oxides to sponge through the mask and then I stamped the Marianne Christmas Song stamp across it. Finished of with some glittery gems.
Last one Distress Oxides again but this time I cut the tree out and mounted it on Black and added another circle sentiment from Craftwork Cards
I will be popping back with a few more ideas tomorrow.
Wasn’t sure which card to post today, but considering the weather this card is very appropriate !!
I had a few die cuts left over from my class preparations from this lovely Sue Wilson set called Snowflake Lace Frame. So I spent some time making up a few more cards to hopefully give you some extra ideas if you have brought this set.
I have used a stitched Hexagonal die from my own stash as I don’t have the Sue Wilson ones. I made an aperture in the middle of the snowflake using the smaller hexagonal dies that come in the set . I added some acetate to make the window and I added some chunky glitter to the middle to create the shaker effect. You could use the Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Jewels we have in the shop
The sentiment is from Woodware and is called Heartfelt Christmas. I used a little bit of Blue pearl card for he background in the middle and the snowflake. The mirror card is from Hunkydory.
Very quick and easy to make, back tomorrow with some more ideas. Stay warm today and hopefully you can spend the day finishing off your own Christmas cards.
This is the last card I’m posting using the Savannah Craftwork Cards kit. I call it a bridge card and its uses some Kraft cardstock for the base and one of the square die cuts from the kit.
I added a few of the flowers and one of the bows. Finished off with a sentiment die cut
Sale is still on with 25% off everything in store plus huge deals on First Edition paper pads, Tatty Teddy, Do Craft, X Cut and Trim craft products. Keep an eye out on Facebook for all the latest deals.
A few more cards I made with this kit . For this card I die cut a circle aperture using a plain circle die. The bow is included on one of the die cut sheets. A few of the flowers and come candi and sentiment. The circle die cut topper is attached to the back of the card.
This elephant card uses one of the papers and a bow. One of the flowers and candi and a sentiment die cut.
This DL card uses one of the papers, some candi and a sentiment die cut.
and lastly for today, this card which uses one of the circle die cut waste sheets to make a frame. You do loose one of the corners but I covered it up with some of the flowers.
Back tomorrow with the last ones from this kit and then its back to some more Christmas card ideas.
