Last of Kerrys cards this morning, great idea for a melted snowman card. Some simple inking and a sentiment again from Phil Martin. Snowman die is from Spellbinders.

June’s Christmas Club part 2

Happy Sunday to you, today’s card is another of Kerrys Christmas cards from her club class.

It uses the Lisa Horton Solar Circles die as a background but in a completely different way. It looks great , I love these background dies they are so versatile and there are more featuring in Lisa’s new release coming soon. Kerry has added a Spellbinders Snowman and another Phil Martin sentiment to complete the card.

Hopefully you will be doing some crafting today, I just finished my gardening jobs so I can craft now guilt free!!

Good morning, today’s card is another using Jane’s stamps. I die cut the stitched oval die and coloured the edges gently with some ink. I used the same ink to stamp the hat stand. I stamped the hat onto some patterned paper and cut it out and also the band and bow on some more cream card. The sentiment comes in the set. Finished off with some more papers from the pad.

If you enjoy Jane’s stamps then the lady herself is coming to teach at the shop on Saturday 30th June . She will be showing you lots of techniques using Shimmer Shakers.

These powders come in a range of colours are great value for money and have so many uses. You will make a technique booklet to take home as reference and a card using one of her stamps. The class cost is £15 and you can choose morning at 10.30am or afternoon at 2.00pm.

This is a rare opportunity to learn from someone who is a tv demonstrator and designer and who has been in the industry a long time and has a wealth of knowledge to pass on.

Sue Wilson Octagon die part 3

The last card from my recent class using the Octagon die from Sue Wilson. This one is suitable for a wedding or anniversary and uses gilding flakes. I die cut one of the outer dies in gold mirror card and then cut the inner on black card. The middle section has been die cut in white with double sided adhesive on top and then the decorative die cut attached on top and I rubbed gilding flakes through the dotty areas. I did stamp the sentiment before I had die cut it as it’s easier to do that first. Finished off with an old Sue Wilson bride and groom die. It’s attached to a 7″ square card.

Products used:

Sue Wilson Octagon Classic Adorned dies

Sue Wilson Bride and Groom die

Cosmic Shimmer Warm Sunrise gilding flakes

Creative Expressions Big Ideas stamp set

Back tomorrow with one of my cards from the class I am holding today using Woodware stamps which are this months product of the month

Have a nice day

Sue Wilson Classic Adorned Octagon die part 2

Hi, today’s post features the Sue Wilson Octagon die using its largest dies. I made it a Octagon shaped card by cutting the largest plain edge in white twice, scoring the back and making it into a tent style card.

It was simply cut using all the inner dies, so the White layer is all one piece. I then cut the biggest again in coloured card and attached to back and cut the centre Octagon in same card.

I stamped a flower image in Watermark ink, this is an old technique but gives a lovely subtle look. Then stamped the sentiment. That was then attached to card with foam pads but it could be flat. Finished off some pearls around the card. Great card for a special birthday or occasion.

Products used:

Sue Wilson Classic Adorned Octagon

Foundation cardstock

Hobby House Pearls

Woodware Just to say sentiment

Creative Expressions Mixed Posey stamp set

Watermark and Archival Black ink

Back tomorrow with the last card I made using this die set

Sue Wilson Octagon Die

Good morning, looks like it’s going to be a hot one in Essex !!

Today’s card is from my class last week using Sue Wilson Octagon die. There are two different ones as well as a plain set. I wanted to show that you don’t always have to make big cards with them.

This one uses some of the smaller dies in the set that were then stuck onto double sided adhesive and then sprinkled with glitter.

I die cut some of the John Lockwood Gerbera flowers and used one of the circle middles from the die to cover with glue and sprinkle with glitter to make centres.

I stamped the sentiment before I did the glittering.

Products used:

Sue Wilson Octagon Classic Adorned die set

Creative Expressions glitter Ice Blue

John Lockwood Gerbera dies

Creative Expressions Thoughtful Sentiments stamp set

Stix 2 double sided adhesive sheets

Archival Black ink

Hope you fit in some crafting today. I have brought a new storage system for my craft room so planning on sorting that out today and staying in the cool.

Back tomorrow with another card using this die set.

Phil Martin Henna Ink stamp

As well as Cloud text stamps Phil’s new range also includes some pattern stamps. This one is called Henna Ink and I used one of his apertures to colour through with cloud ink . I then stamped through the aperture using another colour cloud ink. I then coloured some die cut flowers with some Cloud ink and cut some leaves from green card to decorate the card and finished off with some pearls and one of the sentiment dies from Creative Expressions. Another idea to use a bigger stamp for a smaller area.
